U13 Red Brings Home Silver
London battled all the elements this weekend to bring home the silver medal from the Whitby Summer Slam tournament.
After torrential rain cancelled the late afternoon games on Saturday, the team continued their undefeated run to earn themselves a spot in the semi-final game against Whitby Eagles - Campbell. Battling some Kansas like winds, the girls rallied to an 11-2 win over the Eagles and earned themselves a place in the Gold medal game. In a game that could only be defined as one for the books, London took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning. In the fourth inning Barrie took back the lead with a Grand Slam, however; that did not deter London who battled back to tie up the game. With time ticking down, London came up with some incredible plays at the plate, unfortunately they just weren't enough to take back the lead and London ended up with the silver medal.
