U16 Red, 2021 (London Lightning Fastball)

Lightning U16 Red traveled to LaSalle this weekend to close out their 2021 season.  Without informing the coaching staff, it seemed the players made the strange decision to rest the offense in the sweltering heat Saturday putting the team on the B side.  Having well rested bats from Saturday seemed to pay off Sunday as Lightning defeated Brantford 8-6 and then Arthur 8-5 to win the B final. A huge thanks to Coaches Chris and Ainsleigh for their time this season and to our great parent group for keeping our athletes cool and fed in some trying conditions.

Our Lightning U16 Red earned their Bronze medals in Caledon over the weekend in the UTM Summer series.  They dealt with steady soaking rain nearly all day on Saturday going 2-1 on the day.  Sunday brought high heat and humidity with a win and a loss in morning games which qualified them for the semi-finals.  Quiet bats and a strong Vaughn team put our ladies in the Bronze medal game with a chance to avenge a Saturday loss to Kitchener.  Lightning would get off to a strong offensive start and then play solid defense the rest of the way to bring home a 7-4 win.  Congrats Ladies!
